Budget Outcomes

The budget was completed on time for the first time in recent memory. From CDR's point of view the outcomes were not perfect but far better than in the past few years.

1. Budget item-CA Community Colleges Disabled student's programs. Last year, CDR supported a budget augmentation request for $13 million. Only $3 million was approved. This year the Community Colleges requested the $10 million not approved last year.

Status: $5.6 million approved Position: Support

2. Budget item-To fund wage increases for IHSS workers (AB16) and other changes in IHSS (SB288). $90 million estimated cost. AB1682, budget trailer bill, merges AB16 and SB288 (see discussion below). Status: $36 million approved, which will fund a $ .50/hour wage increase for one year.

Position: Support, but we need to work on this more next year.
