SB2
SB2 (Burton) Health Care Coverage. This bill would require employers to provide health care coverage for eligible employees and dependents. The bill would authorize an employer to require an eligible employee to pay up to 20% of the cost of the coverage.
This bill would also create the State Health Purchasing Program, which would be administered by the Managed Risk Medical Insurance Board. If the employer prefers, they can join this program rather than providing health coverage on their own. The bill would require the board to arrange health plan coverage through a purchasing pool for employers who have paid a fee for employee health coverage rather than arranging their own coverage.
