(Perata)-Sovereign Immunity Waiver
This is the CDR-cosponsored (with the Disability Caucus of the CA Democratic Party) bill to waive the state11 s claim of sovereign immunity. Would provide that California consents to be sued in state or federal court by any person seeking to enforce rights or obtain remedies under the federal Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) and would prohibit any public agency from asserting immunity (under the 11th Amendment of the US Constitution) against those lawsuits.
