(Assembly Judiciary Committee) Civil Code Penalties
Harmonizes the damages provisions of the Unruh Civil Rights Act (Unruh Act) and the Disabled Persons Act (DPA). Specifically, this bill revises the minimum penalty for violation of DPA from $1,000 to $4,000 to bring these remedies into harmony with the Unruh Act.
